Tramonto Russian River Rose of Pinot (5)

The trouble with these 2011 wines is that they lack experience. This can be good when it comes to taste, but horrible when you try to take your wine to, say, a Mortal Kombat style pit fight. Then they’re all “Oh no!” and “Take me home!”  and “Can’t we just go to the opera and then walk by the river?”

Look, it’s just something you have to deal with if you want a supple, creamy mouthfeel like the one this five pack will offer you. And hey, maybe it’ll be a learning experience for you as well. You’re sort of rough around the edges sometimes, you really could use some tempering.

But don’t think this Tramonto Rose of Pinot Noir, Russian River Valley is all lace doilies and velvet-satin pillows 24/7. The palate’s a little racy, and that coppery-pink hue is certainly eye-catching and original. With time, this is a wine that might just stand up for itself in a fight, and might even win a few arguments now and then.

But not yet. Right now, it’s still so wide-eyed and trusting, it could just break your heart. So be kind, huh?
