“I found something,” said Edwin to his parents and his older brother. “It should help us avoid what happened last time.”
Edwin, of course, was referring to the disasterous production of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof that the four of them had preformed in their living room the weekend previous. The audience consisted only of three family friends and the four fish in their aquarium. The reviews were terrible.
“What does it do?” Edwin’s mother asked him, after he had taken the Optoma Home Theater Projector from its box.
“It does home theater, I think,” he said. “Like us.”
“How does it work?” asked his father. Edwin shrugged.
“I think I know,” said Edwin’s older brother, Milton. He ran upstairs and returned with his Xbox. After a few moments spent figuring out how to connect the two, he turned the devices on. Suddenly, the wall came to life.
In front of them, a war zone nearly 300″ in diameter, projected in crystal clear 1080p. Deep down they knew it was fake, something off whatever DVD Milton had put in, but it seemed so real.
This lasted only a moment, though, before their father bashed the Optoma to pieces with a fire poker.
“We must let know one know of these things,” he said. “They will be the death of our art.”
