Well, Kevin. I guess you’re dead, dude. And that totally sucks.

I’ve been thinking a lot about what I’m supposed to say up here, you know. I mean, you were my best bud, dude! We went to all the best concerts together! Remember stage diving at that Fugazi show in ‘88? Or trying to escape the riot in St. Louis at that Guns N’ Roses show? Or, dude, what about that time we thought we’d play a goof on all those Lilith Fair hippie chicks by dressing up as women, only to end up crying like babies during that wicked Indigo Girls set? Remember that?

Oh. Yeah, I guess you don’t. Not anymore. I guess I’m not very good at this eulogy stuff.

So screw it, you know? Words are dumb. Music’s much better than words, anyway, ‘cause it makes words sound better. Kevin said that once. He was drunk, I think, but it’s still pretty profound. Kevin was always talking about moving out of his mom’s place and getting some speakers that would really add some bass and clarity when he listened to stuff. I turned on that Dolby Virtual Speaker setting so you get a 5.1 channel surround sound effect, buddy. Maybe wherever you’re at now, you’ll be able to appreciate how awesome it is.

Unless you’re at a Jimi Hendrix show, dude. Or, DUDE, you could see Joplin now! Or Freddie Mercury! OR JANIS AND FREDDIE TOGETHER WITH HENDRIX OPENING! Oh man, that’d be awesome. Maybe you can just switch your dead ears off and on like an old Walkman or something. That’d be so killer, dude, seriously.
