Day 1702.
Journal Update: Running out of food. Morale low. Dell Notebook still pretty awesome.
It’s been almost five years since the event. It was incredible how quickly things fell apart. Media outlets went black within a few days, there were reports of-
Oh, why am I typing this again? I’ve typed it hundreds of times on this Dell Dual-Core i5 Notebook. Originally I figured it would be a log of some of humanity’s darkest days that I would share with other survivors as we eventually worked our way back from the brink. Instead it looks like it’s going to be another artifact of a dead civilization buried here in this shelter with me.
It’s ironic that after all my years of planning, building this bunker and storing foodstuffs that only this laptop is going to survive. I ran out of canned food long ago, but the 256GB SSD is still going strong. The 14” LED display is still as bright as ever, even with my eyesight fading from vitamin deficiency. And the Second Generation i5 2.5GHz dual-core processor will probably still be running long after I’ve either given up and died or gone mad with hunger and wandered out of my refuge and into the nuclear wasteland.
So what I’m saying is this laptop’s pretty nice.
