Off The Hook
I’m sorry, detective, but there’s nothing we can do. We’ve got to let that Roku Player go.
“Five more minutes, captain. I’m this close to getting a confession out of him, alright? Just gimme five more minutes with that media streaming son of a…”
Detective, did you hear me? I’m telling you it’s over. Finished. If the lab boys say he didn’t do it, he didn’t do it. He’s free to go watch whatever major sports, news, movies, TV or original Internet programming he wants from Netflix, Amazon VOD, Hulu Plus and more as far as we’re concerned.
“Captain, I’m telling you, the Roku Player we’re looking for is sitting right there in that interrogation room! He matches the description perfectly. He’s got built-in Wi-Fi and wired Internet capability, works with any TV up to 720p, and a constantly expanding library of entertainment. He even had the remote control we’ve been looking for on him when we arrested him, and now you’re saying we’re just going to set him loose to stream music from Pandora, Shoutcast, SomaFM, and even his own iTunes playlists?”
I don’t care if this Roku Player shares the birthday as our perp, detective! The fact is the guy we’ve got in the box is a 2000C Roku HD Wireless Streaming Player and not capable of an optical audio, component, or s-video connection. Everything we’ve got points to an N1000/1100 Roku HD Wireless Streaming Player with those connections who was at the scene. Face it, you made a mistake.
“No, no, the setup was too easy. This guy knows something, I can feel it!”
You’re on thin ice, detective! Now do your job, let him go and find the perp who did this. That’s an order.

You may also need a wireless or wired router if you cannot connect Roku directly to your cable or DSL modem.
