We never know how to answer.

Mainly because we never bothered to find out.

People like to ask a lot of questions in the Woot forums. And that’s good! We pride ourselves on a lively, informed, and intelligent user base. Which makes up for us being, well, not so knowledgeable.

See, people have a hard time visualizing the divide in Woot. There’s HQ in Dallas where all the buyers, warehouse peeps, shirt printers, merchandisers, setup, and other people we’re no doubt offending by forgetting are located. You know, the ones who actually work. And then there’s Seattle, where the developers and designers and writers work.

So as writers, we don’t often see the stuff we’re writing about. Actually, we pretty much never see the stuff we’re writing about. So when people ask questions about stuff like this refurbished Samsung Quad-Core Laptop like, “will this handle my business programs?” We kind of scratch our heads. Because honestly, if you can install Notepad and a web browser on it, it’s fully equipped to do our jobs. So our first instinct is to say, “of course!” But it turns out some people do stuff for a living that requires actual computing power and sometimes it may not be enough.

So take it with a grain of salt, and be sure to do your research. Just research it in the forums, from those intelligent users we mentioned earlier. We have no freakin’ clue.
