HP PC/23″ Monitor Bundle
Wednesday, July 18, 2012
“Look, I’m not going to lie to you. The moment I caught sight of that big one terabyte SATA hard drive of hers, I knew I had to have her.”
“Monitor, stop! Oh my gosh, I am so sorry.”
“What? What’s to be sorry for? You looked good. Healthy. Still do. You’ve got a lot of storage space and you’re not afraid to flaunt it. That’s what attracted me to this special desktop PC of mine. It was the confidence that seemed to beam right out of the 15-in-1 memory card reader on her front panel.”
“See, Monitor and I met through a couple of mutual friends.”
“Yeah, Brian and Todd. Awful people. Sales guys. Haven’t seen them in years and…”
“ANYWAY, they ended up inviting us to the same warehouse party. I wasn’t going to go at first, but USB Keyboard and Mouse were going, and I was trying to get this other monitor I’d just broken up with out of my expandable 8GB DDR3 memory, so I figured I might as well try to have a little fun. “
“If I remember correctly, Desktop was wearing this slinky black case with a Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit sticker on it. I tried to compliment her on it, but she wouldn’t give me the time of day at first. She’d just whirr her SuperMulti DVD Burner at me and go back to talking with her buddies.”
“Monitor was persistent, though. And cute, too, with his thin profile and the nicest 23″ 1920×1080 resolution widescreen I’d ever seen. Quick-witted, as well, as I recall…”
“I’ve got a five millisecond response time, you see. Always have.”
“But you were laying it on pretty thick with all that stuff about how your LED backlight technology used less power, minimized eye strain, was more eco-friendly, blah blah blah.”
“I knew Desktop had ATI Radeon HD 6530 integrated graphics with Vision Premium, see. I was trying to impress her.”
“Or put me into Sleep mode. One of the two, anyway.”
“You still came home with me, though, didn’t you, Desktop?”
“Eh. I figured I’d show you a little pity. Keyboard and Mouse told me I shouldn’t, but I’ve never been the best at taking good advice.”
“Thank goodness for that, ’cause we’ve been together on this desk ever since, and I hope we’ll be together forever. Or at least until she picks up some virus and I’m forced to find another PC with a big ole hard drive like hers, heh heh.”
