My job? I’m a stunt double. For John Lithgow.

Now, you wouldn’t think of John – or Johnny Boy, as he prefers to be called – as the kind of guy who would need a stunt double. Nor would you look at me and think, “Hey, there’s a regular John Lithgow look-alike!” But it’s true – I am Johnny Boy’s stunt double. Because while I may not have his facial features, I do have his outline.

You see, not many people know this, but Johnny Boy can never ever go horizontal. Seriously, if he lays down for even a minute, he could die. That’s why he sleeps standing up and, if he drops something, he doesn’t pick it up, because even leaning over can cause trauma.

So, whenever they need a shot of a memory-foam mattress that Johnny-Boy’s supposedly slept in, they call me. I lay down, get up, they get a shot of the indentation, and I get a paycheck.

Or at least, I wish it was that simple. Unfortunately, on a lot of sets, I’ll end up laying down and getting up nearly 40 times while they fix som production issue or get the lighting just right.

That’s why it’s important that they get me a good mattress. I mean, I’m not spending 4 hours on the thing if it doesn’t have a 2-inch-thick, 4-pound convection cooled memory foam layer that circulates air using unique air flow ducts. And a non-flammable fabric overlay? That’s super important with some of these movies!

But Johnny Boy always hooks me up. Although, why wouldn’t he? After all, every time I lay down, I’m pretty much saving his career and his life at the same time!

• This product arrives very tightly packed, please unwrap and allow 48 hours for this product to return to its original shape
• Being sealed in plastic packaging will trap odors naturally produced by the memory foam composition, please allow 1 to 2 weeks for the odor to dissipate completely
• Due to machine cutting manufacturing processes, there may be slight variances in the dimensions of this product
