Wolfgang Puck Grill and Waffle Maker

Craig’s head was still spinning from the events of last night. First Aunt Sylvia disappears, then her estranged sister, Craig’s mother, shows up out of the blue with a story about Sylvia’s unsavory past.
He knew he should be worried about his aunt, and he was. But the thing that was bothering him the most was Danielle’s comment about their date not being a date. It was SO TOTALLY a date! He had worn a tie! You don’t get all dressed up and take a girl to Texas Roadhouse if it’s not a date.
And then there was the way she had patted him on the back and said, “Sorry about your aunt” when he dropped her off at the end of the night. She totally wanted him. It was obvious. So why was she being coy? “Two can play at that game,” he thought. “I’ll just ignore her next time I see her and it’ll drive her nuts. Like in a good way.”
The only thing that cheered Craig up in these situations was waffles. So he whipped up some batter from scratch while his Wolfgang Puck Grill and Waffle Maker heated up. When it was ready, he poured it evenly over the deep-pocket, round-shaped iron. As it sizzled and bubbled, he set the electronic timer and waited patiently for the audible beep to signal that it was done.
Cooking always made him feel confident. “I hope you like waffles, Danielle,” he said aloud. “Because that’s what you’re getting the morning after our next date.”
