Boxee Box HD Media Player by D-Link

Bargain shopping is an art, as you know (you’re on Woot, after all). There’s no such thing as a free lunch, and you’ve got to find stuff that’s on the cheap for the right reason. And this revolutionary Boxee Box HD Media Player is affordable for one reason: The designers totally forgot one of the corners of the cube.

The Boxee lets you stream video directly to your computer. You don’t need to watch on your monitor, or set up some complicated connection between your TV and computer. Just connect the Boxee to your TV like a cable box, and stream at will. It’s got a huge catalog of media to choose from, and features a QWERTY remote for on-the-couch video browsing. And none of these features are compromised by the fact that it only has 7 instead of 8 corners.

I mean, you’ve got to feel bad for the design lead at Boxee who let this go into production. You’ve got this great product, but it becomes a laughingstock just because you didn’t do a final check to make sure it was an actual cube. That’s rough. Hopefully if you buy one of these, the designer won’t be disgraced and spiral into a deep depression. Hopefully.
