Lighted Beverage Tower

Danielle hobbled over as Phil proudly set up his gift next to her favorite chair. “So what you’re telling me is that, as soon as you heard about my ankle, you rushed out and bought me…” Danielle gave the thing another look. “A blender-looking thing with a spigety doodadd on it.”

“Not just any blender-looking thing with a spigety doodadd on it,” he protested. He then flipped a small switch on the gift and stood back. The inner chamber now glowed brightly. “It also lights up!”

“Awesome,” Danielle said, flatly. “Incredibly thoughtful.”

“I know, right?” Phil quickly began reaching for the cans he’d brought with him, opening each one and pouring the contents into the lighted beverage tower. “I figure moving around isn’t going to be easy for you, so why not have all the alcohol you need right next to you? There’s a removable ice chamber that keeps whatever you have in here cold, a nice bar-style tap for easy pouring, and you can even read one of your fancy dang books by the light of it. Come on.” He patted the cushion of her chair with one hand and produced a pint glass with the other. “Give it a try.”

Danielle maneuvered herself to the chair, handed her crutches to Phil, and sat down. She filled the glass with amber liquid with the tap and had a sip.

“Well?” he said.

“Well, I wish you hadn’t decided to make it a Coors Lighted Tower,” she told him, “but I suppose I could get used to this.”

Phil clapped his hands together. “Hot dog! See? Me taking care of you is going to be great.”

“Wait, what?”
