A heaping bowl of pesto for you, a heaping bowl of pesto for me, and dinner is served. Go ahead, dig in! I just made it fresh in my Cuisinart 9-Cup Food Processor.
Yes, honey, I know that generally you put pesto ON stuff – that you don’t usually just throw the ingredients into your food processor’s one-piece Supreme wide mouth feed tube, let the 3/4 horsepower motor go to work, and then call what comes out a meal – but here’s the thing: do you have any idea how expensive pine nuts are?
Seriously, you know how I paid for enough pine nuts to fill these bowls? $ 45 dollars. Per bowl. I couldn’t even afford to get the basil. It’s just pine nuts and olive oil with some dry oregano thrown in for a hint of green.
And you’re going to enjoy it, you hear me? I didn’t spend nearly $ 100 dollars for you to NOT eat something. So go ahead, take a bite. I SAID TAKE A BITE!
