“We should get ready,” noted Olivia, snapping in a corner piece.

“The rest of the family will be here very soon,” agreed Sharon, finishing a small group in the center.

“Mom will ask where the wine is,” Olivia prophesied, turning down an edge piece.

“Your brother will run right to jump on the couch with Dakody,” Sharon assumed, turning two pieces right-side up.

“My dad will want to listen to old Christmas music, I bet.” The left side was three-quarters complete.

“Your uncle will pretend he forgot his Christmas gifts back at his apartment.” The top was done.

“Do you think Ella will pull down the tinsel again this year?” There was the bottom, now.

“I bet we have enough leftovers to feed everyone a second time.” The picture in the middle was clear.

“We should probably finish cooking, shouldn’t we?”

Olivia and Sharon sat quietly, sharing a smile.

“One more puzzle, first?” Sharon suggested.

Ella nodded at her grandmother. “They’ll probably be late anyway.”

Sharon nodded back. “That’s what I was thinking too.”
