I Love Books

Okay. You love books. Great. I am glad you have reached a point in your life where you feel comfortable making such a banal and uncontroversial statement. The world would be a better place if everyone shared your bravery, I guess.

Hmm? No, I’m not against you loving books. I love books myself. It’s just one of those things I never really felt the need to declare. It’s sort of like saying, “I like to eat food,” or “I enjoy getting a full night’s sleep.” It’s just the sort of thing one assumes all right-thinking people do, and even if they don’t one doesn’t feel the need to get any more involved in their lives than that.

Or maybe it’s just me.
