There was a time when people called me Beanie for my exhaustive dried bean collection. Then this silly hat came along and took all that away from me.

It’s true. People would come from miles around to see my red beans, my pinto beans, my black beans, my Mexican jumping beans, my garbanzo beans, all labeled and kept under glass. “Beanie, you sure are something else!” they’d say.

Then one day, a guy showed up wearing a hat, and I said, “What kind of hat is that?” and he said, “It’s an AERIAL7 Sound Disk Beanie. It’s made of moisture-wicking fabric, and it comes with headphones that go right into it so you can listen to music while you snowboard.” Well, after everyone heard that, all the sudden I wasn’t Beanie anymore; I was just “Chris with the beans.”
