You may have noticed that this home theater system features a subwoofer, which adds powerful low-frequency impact. But, hey – we don’t need to tell you that! After all, if you’re here shopping on Tech.Woot you know full-well what a subwoofer is! But you might not be familiar with the many other woofers. For example:
Basicwoofer: not particularly bass-y, not particularly high-pitched, very honest and aboveboard in terms of its woofs.
Elevatedwoofer: like a subwoofer but kind of an elitist. Will often correct you, even if you’re agreeing with it.
Subsubwoofer: produces bass so low that it cannot be heard by the human ear, used primarily in hospitals to treat patients who are “backed up” so to speak.
Tubwoofer: a failed woofer designed to “make bath time for fun for babies who like bass!”
Supersubwoofer: illegal in most countries, causes earthquakes, rumored to be what drove the dinosaurs into extinction.
