“Have you seen the new Chooty Hooded Pet Bed that Jim got for Rufus?”

Yeah. Cute little Rufus gets a new pet bed, with microsuede fabric and a hood to keep him warm. And what do we get? We get to stare at this inanimate scuba diver, who I’m honestly not even sure is real.

“Do I sense jealousy?”

Me? Jealous? Ha! What do I have to be jealous about? I get to swim around this lovely rectangle every day, eating pebbles to keep myself entertained, and when I want to sleep, I get to go hide in that little castle over there. Oh, no, I LOVE everything about my current situation.

“We all have to deal with it, you know?”

But some of us were destined for greater things, Bubbles. We’re not all supposed to be cooped up in an area like this. I should be swimming the seven seas, exploring the world, meeting fish just like me and learning about their travels. I should be setting records, exploring shipwrecks. There should be documentaries made about me.

“Sorry.”

I guess it’s just, would it hurt to get us a microsuede pet bed now and then?

“I don’t think that would work …”

It doesn’t matter if it would work. It’s the thought that counts.
