You want chocolate ice cream. So, you get in your car and drive all the way to the ice cream shop (or ice cream shoppe, if it’s a little fancy [or micro-creamery if it’s too fancy for its own good]), only to find that they don’t have any chocolate today.

Instead, they have this other thing. It’s a lot like chocolate, except it came out after chocolate and doesn’t look or taste as good as chocolate. And if we’re honest, it’s really only for people who just want SOME chocolate-ISH ice cream RIGHT NOW.

You’re not one of those people, so you tell the ice cream guy, “No thanks.”

And he’s like, “Okay, have a nice day!” Then just as you’re leaving, he shouts after you, “BTW – you should check back tomorrow, because we’re a weird kind of ice cream store that only does one flavor-a-day.”

Fine. You go back the next day. And the next day after that. And the day after that too. There’s always plenty of almost chocolate, but never the real stuff. You start to lose hope. You start to think, “This place is never going to sell actual chocolate ice cream. They’re just teasing me.”

Then one day, there it is! Not an imitation! Not the crappy version! No! They’ve got genuine, delicious chocolate ice cream! Right there! IN FRONT OF YOU! Naturally, you’re so excited that you buy yourself a cone as quickly as you can and sit down to enjoy it right there!

Well, that’s kinda what today is like here on Woot.
