Outside, the streets were soaked in rain. Hinkle tapped his glass against the table. Miller twisted the Breville YouBrew Coffee Maker and hummed.
“You gonna keep humming?”
“You gonna keep tapping that cup?”
The answer, both men already knew, was yes. It had been raining too long.
“This is crazy,” said Hinkle.
“Too crazy,” said Miller.
“We can’t stay in here,” said Hinkle.
“Not one day more,” said Miller.
“We’re almost out of coffee beans,” said Hinkle.
“It’s true,” said Miller.
Hinkle pushed his cup toward the Breville YouBrew Coffee Maker.
“Fill me up, Miller.”
Miller sniffed. Hinkle nodded, and began tapping his cup again. Miller began to hum.
