The veggies, they don’t know why they even travel out onto the cutting board anymore. Despite outnumbering their enemy, they understand the fight is futile. Still, they step out onto the bamboo and meet their maker. Maybe they’re halved, or quartered, or sliced, or diced, or minced, or peeled. It doesn’t matter. In the end it’s all the same, which is to say, in the end, it’s the end.

Perhaps the only solace they receive is from the smooth texture and beautiful pattern of the cutting board itself. After all, it’s 20″ by 14″ surface is made of durable, long-lasting bamboo. Or maybe that makes the whole thing even worse, for such an awe-inspiring landscape to be the stage of such terrifying cruelty.

Or maybe, they don’t think anything. Maybe they’re just vegetables and we’re reading into this a little too much. Who friggin’ knows, really?
