Portal allowed you to connect two different locations. Faultline does the same, only in a far more aggressive way.
See those little flower-shaped things? Click them both and you’ve got the power to bring them together with your mouse.
Get it? You don’t go to the mountain, the mountain comes to you! And so does everything around the mountain. And all the stuff inside the mountain goes away letting you through the tunnel formed by the caves. That’s how it works in Faultline‘s world.
As you can see, it’s hard to screenshot the game because of the impossible geometry that only makes sense when you can see it moving. That strange pink slice is what you have to jump through, and that hint of a platform behind it will be flying at your head. Objects in motion stay in motion, even when you shunt them into some pocket dimension, but that opens up great new options for jumping and redirecting lase… oh, was that a spoiler?
Even if you don’t like platformers, go and peek for a second. We think skeptics will be impressed. And if you’re a fan? Man, this might be the rest of your day.
