You’re invited!
The days are getting shorter and the nights are getting colder, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have ONE MORE BARBEQUE!
So this Saturday* at 3, c’mon over to my place** for some old-fashioned*** grill**** festivities*****!
*Rain or shine, because we’ll be inside no matter what. The doctor said that, if I’m in the sun for more then twenty minutes, the rash could come back, and even worse than it was in July too!
**For anyone who needs a reminder: I’m at 49 South Main Street, Apartment #4. It’s the basement studio. Knock quietly, please. If you knock too loud, the cats will think it’s my ex-girlfriend coming to take them for a “Weekend with mom.” There isn’t enough wet food and cat nip in the world to calm them down once they get that in their heads.
***Old-fashioned as in we’ll be eating, not as in we’ll be having traditional barbeque food. I’ll be making grilled eggplant, or I should say, grilled NuGuinea Squash. It’s a synthetic eggplant replacement that doesn’t get my stomach all in knots like normal eggplant. There won’t be any burgers or chicken. Don’t bring any chicken as I am severely allergic to it, even if it’s wrapped in plastic. In fact, if you even eat chicken 3-7 days before coming over, you’re putting me in serious danger.
****The doctor says that if I get any smoke in my eyes, it could cause perminent blindness, so I’ll be using George Foreman Jumbo Grill. It cooks up to 6 servings. And there are 5 of you on this invite. When you count me, that’s 6. So no guests. Oops. Sorry Chris. I guess Tammy can’t come.
*****That is, any festivities that are possible from a seated position. I’ll be in my recliner the whole time because the doctor says if I stand at all my legs could break like twigs. You probably won’t be standing either because of how low the ceilings are.
