Buying a computer can be tough because there are so many “specs” and “features” and “RAMs” and “hertz” and “slots” and “gremlins” involved. So: is this HP H8 hexa-core desktop the computer for you? Here’s a handy guide to help you out.
Would be great: For someone who likes to do some video editing. The 10 gigs of RAM and terabyte hard drive are pretty much ideally suited to this task.
Would be not-so-great: For playing the latest games at the highest settings. Will it run Skyrim? Almost certainly. Will it be able to render the crystallized breath of every Norse guard? Probably not.
Would be great: For someone who wants to just get a desktop and not upgrade for awhile. Even if you’re a pretty casual computer user (Word, web browser, etc), this machine is packing enough heat to make sure there doesn’t come a time in the near future when you need to upgrade for more power.
Would be not-so-great: For someone who wants something lightweight with a lot of battery life so they can get work done anywhere. This is, um, not a laptop.
Would be great: For a college student.
Would be not-so-great: For a college student who would rather commit seppuku than use a computer that doesn’t have a piece of fruit stamped on it.
Would be great: To have in our office to make the weekly podcasts on. Seriously, we’re still using like iMovie over here. Can somebody send one of these up to Seattle?
Would be not-so-great: For solving all the problems that have slowly accumulated in your life. This computer is a useful machine, but you’ve got to get your life in order on your own, buddy.
