The Santoku was versatile
Just useful enough
To trim off the part
Of the meat that’d be tough.

And Pamela with her paring
And Sylvia with her Chef’s
Made quick work of the vegetables
With fast chopping slaps

When off by the stove
Was a horrible clatter!
Craig had knocked over the knife block
And the other knives scattered!

Serrated, and Bread Knife,
And Carving knife too!
All over the counter!
What could poor Craig do?

Rod sighed, and then laughed
And then righted the block.
“Come now, Craig my friend!
Don’t stand there so shocked!”

And then, in a twinkling,
The kitchen was clean
“Rod, how did you do that?”
Rod shrugged: “What do you mean?”

“I know how to cook
And that means that my kitchen
Must be spotless and organized
So please, quit your- whining!”

It was Sylvia who laughed
And then Pamela went next
And Craig had no choice
And it spread, like some hex

And then, all together,
They had a great night,
Merry Christmas to all,
