“ELLA!” said Jake into the bottle. “I AM THE GENIE OF THE LAMP!”

“It’s not a lamp!” called Olivia from across the room. “Don’t lie to our sister in her important formative years!”

“ELLA!” said Jake into the bottle. “I AM THE GENIE OF THE BOTTLE!”

“There’s no such thing as genies, Jake!” called Olivia again. “Why not explain to her the way sound behaves when it’s trapped inside a concave surface such as that BPA-free bottle?”

“ELLA!” said Jake into the bottle. “I AM TRAPPED IN SOME CAVE’S SURFACE! FREE ME FROM THIS BOTTLE AND I’LL GRANT YOU A WISH!”

“No, Jake!” Olivia closed her math book and came into the kitchen. “Don’t encourage her to believe in weird genies! There’s no such thing!”

Ella rubbed the bottle. Olivia stamped her foot.

“No, Ella! Stop it!”

“ELLA! YOU HAVE FREEEED MEEEE! MAKE YOUR WISH!”

Ella pointed to the sink, then the fridge.

“ELLA! YOU HAVE WISHED FOR COLD WATER! AND BEHOLD!”

Jake opened the fridge and grabbed another bottle from the neatly balanced plastic fridge tray. Ella took a long and happy drink.

“ELLA!” said Jake into the original bottle. “BEHOLD WHAT MAGIC HAS DELIVERED!”

And Olivia glared as hard as she possibly could.
