Martian Ranch 2009 Grenache Blanc (3)
Tuesday, July 10, 2012
Nestled in the fertile Amazonis Planitia in the shadow of Olympus Mons, Martian Ranch produces some of the finest Grenache Blanc in the solar system. Though the soil contributes heartily to the flavor of the wine, there’s more than simple areography involved. It takes craftsmanship, attention to detail, and the proper shielded helmet to insulate vintners’ ears from the eternal screaming and wailing of Mars’ sapient grapes. Some folks say that snuffing out the only sapient plant life known in the galaxy is a cost worth paying for the delicious wines they produce. Others say the wine wouldn’t be half as good without the ultimate sacrifice made by the grapes. Still others say we should leave the vines in peace, and attempt to treat with them so that we may learn their ways. Whatever side you fall on, we can all agree that this Grenache Blanc is delicious and totally worth it.
Oh. Unless you fall on that third side.
