Microsoft Xbox 360 60GB Live Starter Pack – $39.99
Sunday, May 15, 2011
Sometimes it’s too hard not to take the easy road.
Oh PS3 people, we’re going to try hard not to lord this over you.
Sure, “serious” gamers might point at our little Microsoft Xbox 360 60GB Live Starter Pack and laugh. “Only 60GB?!” they’ll guffaw, “a TRUE gamer wants 250!” “You get three months of Xbox LIVE Gold subscription service and THEN you have to PAY?! I play games online for FREE!” they’ll gloat. “Look at this rinky-dink headset. I’m rockin’ Turtle Bay, son! I hear your footsteps in STEREO so I’m turned and ready to pwn you before you even round the corner!” they shout in gleeful derision.
And you know what? That’s fine. This isn’t for “1337” gamers. If you’re the kind of weirdo who’s obsessing over your K/D ratio in Black Ops, or if you’re even the type of weirdo who knows what a K/D ratio IS, you’ve probably already got a better set-up than this. Good for you.
But this set-up? This is more for the new, casual gamer. The person who’s just wanting to explore online gaming a bit because they got some new game that requires it, like maybe Brink. They don’t want to invest a lot yet, because they’re not sure online gaming is even for them.
Then again, maybe they’re the kind of people looking for an inexpensive way to get online with a secondhand Xbox 360 they bought off Craigslist because their stupid $ 500 “ZOMG IT DOES EVERYTHING” box won’t let them play games online without spitting their credit card info directly to those Nigerian princes we hear so much about.
