Nordic Ware Rose Bundt Pan
Saturday, July 7, 2012
Lesley looked at the rose-shaped cake. She had made it the day before with her Nordic Ware Rose Bundt Pan. The cake had released easily from the pan so that every petal had retained its shape, and thanks to the heat reflective silver platinum exteriors, each was uniformly browned. It was perfection. Beautiful and delicious. And now a symbol of heartache and disappointment.
Ok, so maybe she was being a little dramatic. But she was still hurt that Brant had so clearly forgotten the anniversary of the first time he looked at her and she pretended not to notice him looking at her. A fan? Just a fan? These were important milestones in their relationship. How could he be so insensitive? At least she deserved a bottle of wine.
She picked up the beautiful cake and stuffed it angrily in the composter, right on top of the “I’m sorry” pancakes he had made for her two days before. She loved pancakes, but she hadn’t wanted to give him the satisfaction. Besides, he had only made them in the first place because he knew she was mad at him, even though he had no idea why. It was a cheap make-up attempt, and she wasn’t going to fall for it.
As far as she was concerned, he had one more chance. Tomorrow was the anniversary of the day he had asked her friend to ask her if she liked him liked him or just liked him. And if he couldn’t remember something as important as that, then she would have some serious soul-searching to do.
