Why? Because the ability to project a 60″ widescreen image onto a wall or ceiling from less than 10 feet away means less time I’ll have to spend wrestling with that old, musty screen that smells like moth balls but, ironically, is riddled with moth holes.
And the ability to connect this projector to computers, video players and hand-held devices means less time I’ll have to spend in the dark with my brother’s bratty, whiney children while my father curses at jammed film and an overheated head lamp and swears “it’ll just be one second” when it’s already been 20 minutes and can’t we just have some pumpkin pie now?
Besides, the holidays just wouldn’t be the holidays without a 16:9 wide screen reminder that it’s a miracle I even survived to see adulthood. PS, mom and dad … documenting me eating a cigarette butt and drinking a can of beer at the age of 3 doesn’t bode well for your parenting skills. But I wouldn’t have it any other way.
