Yes, a picture would last longer. But it’s just not the same.
Hey there. Creepy leering guy here. Listen, I want you to know I’ve taken your advice to heart. Every time my head whips around in response to a bikini-clad beach-goer walking by, every time I stop in my tracks to stare at an angry person who inadvertently suffered embarrassment, and every time my mind wanders when someone eats a banana, I’ve heard your words: “WHY DON’T YOU TAKE A PICTURE? IT’LL LAST LONGER!”
Well I might not be the brightest guy on the planet, but I figure enough people give you a piece of advice, maybe it’s time to take it to heart. So I got me one of these refurbished Panasonic 14.1MP Digital Camera with Leica 16x Optical Zoom, GPS & 1080p HD Video.
It’s a great little point and shoot. It’s got a 3 inch Smart Touch LCD screen, a GPS function to tag my photos so I can remember where that place that sells ill-fitting halter tops is, and this neat Venus Engine FHD thing cleans up chromatic and luminance noise to keep my images crystal clear.
Whatever that means.
But I’ve tried taking pictures and I’ve got to say it’s just not the same. Look, I’m a creepy leering guy. I own it. It’s not the most glamorous existence, but it’s my lot in life. I’m compelled to ogle, slack-jawed, at anything ranging from slightly embarrassing to the most mildly titillating stuff you can think of. And snapping a photo doesn’t really cut the mustard.
For one, I don’t even really like looking at the photos afterward. There’s something about being in the moment, y’know? And two: as uncomfortable as people might get by a balding, overweight guy staring at them for picking a wedgie, they get WAY more upset when said guy reaches for a camera and snaps a photo. I get all kinds of grief: “I’m gonna kill you,” “If this winds up on the internet I’ll sue,” “Why don’t you try being a decent human being for once in your god-forsaken life,” it goes on and on.
So trust me on this, folks: it might be creepy getting leered at in your moment of vulnerability, but it’s way worse when the creepy leering guy whips out his camera.
