Lesley was back at Ruttles again, looking for the perfect “anniversary of the day we discovered we both love Pad Thai” gift for Brant. Most of Jimmy’s encounters with Lesley were entertaining, to say the least. But on this occasion, it was particularly difficult for him to keep a straight face.

“I need something really special,” explained Lesley. “And I was thinking about this massage cushion.”

“So let me get this straight,” said Jimmy loud enough so that Maurice could hear from his hiding spot behind the end cap on the next aisle. “You want to give your husband a gift.”

“That’s right,” said Lesley.

“Something real special,” he continued.

“Yes,” she confirmed.

“Like a massage. Which would, essentially, make it … a SPECIAL massage.” Jimmy managed to contain his laughter, but a pained smirk crossed his face when he heard Maurice snicker from a few feet away.

Lesley ignored it and asked him to go over the features with her.

“Well let’s see, shall we? We call this one ‘Prospera.’ She’s quite beautiful, ultra thin and light weight. She’ll really go to town on your husband’s aching muscle. Muscles, I mean. With an ‘S’.”

Completely oblivious to any innuendo, Lesley went on. “So it does the neck, shoulders and back?”

“Oh yeah. Legs. Abdomen. Everything in between. Prospera will do anything. And I do mean ANYTHING.” Jimmy emphasized the last word by raising his eyebrows twice.

“Ok, I’ll take it,” she said.” “Can you wrap it up?”

“Of course! You never know WHERE these things have been, am I right?”

Lesley wasn’t sure what he was getting at, so she just nodded, smiled and paid. As she was walking out the door with the gift, Jimmy waved and yelled after her.

“Have a nice day. I HOPE YOUR HUSBAND ENJOYS HIS SPECIAL MASSAGE!”

And with that, Maurice lost all control. He laughed so hard that the tears streamed down his face.

“Ahhh,” said Jimmy with a satisfied sigh. “I will never get tired that.”
