The Saeco Incanto Deluxe frothed the milk smoothly. In the other room, the rattle of cups.
“Thanks for coming over, man.”
“Hey, no problem, dude. Sometimes you just need coffee with a bro, right?”
The removable 68 oz water tank gurgled as the coffee brewed.
“I hear that. Better than dealing with some crazy lady-friend again.”
“Oh, man, don’t get me started. First they’re all ‘Hey, you’re cute!’ and then they’re all “Oh, I don’t want to date!’ and then they’re all “Oh, meet my boyfriend who isn’t you!’ and then they stop calling you.”
“Right, right! And then they’re like ‘Hey, we work together, so I don’t want to be in a relationship, but I think of you as a dear friend!’ Women, right? Go figure!”
A quick turn of the dial, and the coffee was strong. Man strong. Out went the frothed milk.
“I know, man, I know. Why can’t they be more sensible? Like you and me?”
“Ha ha! Yeah! Boy, wouldn’t that solve problems!”
Craig brought the coffee into the living room, where Jimmy was sitting.
“Okay, new life partner, this is the big decision time: do we watch The Empire Strikes Back or Wrath of Khan?”
Jimmy raised his cup, first at the Saeco Incanto Deluxe, then at Craig.
