In an effort to move towards being a more eco-friendly, sustainability-minded company, we’ve decided to source all of our tablet computers from local tablet farmers.
Today’s Samsung Galaxy Tab 2s come from farmer Wenton Abramhams. We asked Wenton to share a little bit about his background so that you, the community, could get to know him. Here’s what he provided:
Good Evenin’, ladies and gentleman of the Woot.com. I, Wenton Abramhams, am mighty ‘cited to find myself ‘pon your glorious site o’retail.
Now, I been farmin’ tablets most my life. In fact, one o’my earliest mem’ries is helpin’ my pappy, a tablet farmer hisself, pull up a fresh crop o’Apple Newtons from th’rich soil o’his field!
Sho, much’s changed since them days. There been countless advances in the touchscreen computer mark’t. But that don’t mean the principles ain’t still th’same. I still wake up at th’crack a’dawn like my pappy did. I still till th’soil by hand like my pappy did. I still take pride in m’work like my pappy did.
It may not be as ‘fficient as th’factory farms tha’turn out a billion million tablets a day, but I firmly belie’ tha’ the result’s worth the means: a rich, organic, pesticide-free tablet ‘perience featurin’ Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), Media Hub fo’ th’day-old tv shows, TouchWiz Live Panels fo’ th’live cont’nt, and a Smart Remote app to boot. Tha’s simply not somethin’ that can be manufact’d in a factory.
