“Where’s the next hole?”
“It’s a dog-leg around that stand of furze. You see it?”
“No. To the right of the furze?”
“Yup, to the right of the furze but to the left of those two tall pines.”
“Those pines?”
“No, no. Those pines.”
“OK. In front of the willow bower?”
“No.”
“So behind the willow bower?”
“I was saying ‘No’ to it being a bower. It’s more of a copse.”
“A cops?”
“A copse.”
“A caughts?”
“A copse.”
“A cots?”
“A copse.”
“A tots?”
“No, a copse. Like a brake or a chaparral.”
“Ohhhhhhhhh yeah. I see the willow chaparral. Did you say it was behind that?”
“No.”
“In front?”
“Yes.”
“OK so it’s to the left of the tall pines, to the right of the furze, and in front of the chaparral of willows?”
“You got it.”
“Well, I still don’t see the hole but I’ll just hit the ball in that direction. Aaaaand I shanked it.”
