The Sony Bloggie Touch is a fun little easy-to-use camcorder in its own right, but I consider it more of an investment. I upload the videos I take with it to my blog, Lou’s Views, and they drive traffic, which drive ad clicks, which leads to revenue. At least, that’s the hypothetical situation that will be realized in the near future when blogging becomes a legitimate, monetizable medium.
Don’t get me wrong, this thing ain’t pricey, but it’s still a pretty high revenue benchmark for blogging. It shoots in full 1980×1080 HD video, so my dedicated viewers get the detail they crave, but I would need about five million more viewers to cover my operating expenses. I think it’s pretty clear that someday soon it won’t be so hard to make a living as a blogger, right?
Blogging at this level is highly time-consuming, so this camcorder’s features are a lifesaver. It’s got a capacitive screen to easily flip through my next hit videos, and a flip-out USB arm for quick uploads. I figure that, since my time as a blogger is worth about $ 0.35/hour, the ease-of-use this camera provides have saved me as much as dollars.
Did I mention I blog about crocodiles wearing silly hats?
