Welcome Back

I just couldn’t do it, Ma. We got all the way out to the woods, but I just could put the thing out of its misery.

I know we told the boys we were sending the Sony Dash Personal Internet Viewer off to the “Happy Gadget Store,” but when I looked into the 7-inch (diagonal) LCD vivid color touch screen gazing up at me so sadly, flashing up all those old photos we’ve loaded on to her… It just wasn’t in me, anymore. The thought of leaving all of those apps we’ve grown so found of over the years got to me, I reckon.

And maybe I’m just being selfish, but I think the old girl’s got a few good years in her left. She still plays MP3s, doesn’t she? She can still be our alarm clock in the morning or fetch our daily email for us, just like before. Just because she’s not the latest and great anymore, well, that doesn’t mean we should just get rid of her. This Sony Dash Personal Internet Viewer is like family, and we do not lead family out into the woods when we’re tired of ‘em. Aside from my great-grandmother Beatrice, of course, Lord rest her soul.
