Spalding In-Ground 54″ Basketball System
Friday, March 29, 2013
Now I know you’re just a cat, but don’t let that deter you: you CAN do this. You can do this just like Ed showed us a monkey can play baseball and how Gus showed us a horse can kick a football. It’ll take some practice, but I have faith in you. After all, it worked for Air Bud, and he’s a dog. You don’t want to let a dog do better than you, do you?
You’ll notice I’ve set up a Spalding In-ground 54″ Basketball System in our driveway. Now, since you’re just starting out, we can use the U-Turn lift system to adjust the height from 10 feet to a more attainable 7 1/2 feet at first, then as you get used to shooting a basketball — I’m thinking in, say, a week or two — we can gradually move it up to ten feet.
After you’ve got the jumping under control, we’re going to need to work on shooting, but that’s okay, because the 54-inch backboard gives you plenty of room to bank in jump shots. You have taken a jump shot before, right? No? Hmm. Okay, well, this might take awhile, but with plenty of training, you can do this. You have the talent, Mr. Squiggles. I’ve seen that look in your eyes.
Now there’s one last thing, and I want you to look carefully. See that official NBA logo up there, right there on the corner of the backboard? That’s a special logo, kit, and every time you shoot a basket I want you to look at that logo and remind yourself that you’re destined for greatness, and that you ARE going to be the first professional cat basketball player. You got it? Alright, then let’s shoot some hoops!
